This is all the more very relevant to face the challenges that are coming in our way in the future. Both critical thinking and problem-solving skills are absolutely necessary in the future.

      Collaboration & Leadership

Working together is always helpful for the students community. Two minds, of course, can think much better than one, says a proverb. Cultural, Global & Environmental Awareness

When you work in a global setting with colleagues from different parts of the world, it is absolutely necessary to understand the expectations of different cultures in order to ensure smooth flow of work and task-completion. Of course, understanding the culture and values of people is a difficult task but this is all the more necessary in this world of cultural diversity and competition. Equally environmental awareness is important as the world is giving a lot of emphasis on safeguarding the environment and bio-diversity. Our teaching practices have to incorporate these skills as well.

      Ethics, empathy, and self-awareness

Being aware of the implications of one’s behavior and actions on others is quite important to succeed in the 21st Century. Equally, awareness about the feelings and emotions of other people would go a long way in being successful as a student. So, self-awareness and understanding the feelings of others are absolutely necessary in the 21st century.

Not only learning, research accords top-priority to acquiring communication skills to be successful in the days ahead. A competent communicator can create a greater impact on others. Undoubtedly, as teachers, it is our primary responsibility to teach very good communication skills to our students.

Lifelong learning, Self-direction and Personal Management

In addition to the subject-knowledge, a student is expected to acquire life-long learning skills such as information management, adaptability, curiosity, reflection and other skills in addition to what have already been discussed.
